• Take I70 to Highway 40 and continue through Winter Park
• 1.9 miles west of Granby on Highway 40 turn north onto Highway 125 towards Walden
• 16.8 miles from the turn, the Still Water Pass Rd trailhead is on the right. There is a Forest Service Access sign 1/4 mi. before the turn.

From Fort Collins

• Take highway 14 over Cameron Pass to Gould
• Turn south on Highway 125.  (4wd vehicles can take the County Road cut off to Rand, others turn at Walden.)
• Take 125 over Willow Pass.
• Still Water Pass Rd. is located east of the Highway just past mile marker 17.  There is a Forest Service Access sign 1/4 mi. before the turn.

Parking

• We recommend that guests drop gear at the trailhead, Still Water Pass Rd., and park in the parking area 1/4 mile north on the west side of 125.
• Do not park your vehicle on the side of the road.  Be prepared to shovel your vehicle in or out of the parking area. 

Public Transportation

• The California Zephyr departs Denver at 8:05 am arriving in Granby at 10:37 am and departs Granby at 3:52 pm arriving in Denver at 7:50pm daily. The train costs $21 one way. To encourage this alternative transportation VR will offer free pick up and drop off in Granby for guests using the train.
• From DIA to VR Home James Transportation offers an 11 passenger van for $540 one way. Scheduled Vans cost $70/person, require 4 day advance reservation and a VR shuttle to the drop off and pick up in Granby.

Winter Ski and Snowshoe Directions

• View and print this topographic route map and bring it with you.
• The route is 3.8 miles and 400 ft. elevation gain. Allow a minimum of 2 hrs. Bring headlamps and be prepared for winter weather.
• Still Water Pass Rd. is groomed once a week from December through April all the way to the huts.  
• Ski 3.5 miles east on Still Water Pass Rd. until you reach a fork in the road.  The right fork crosses Willow Creek, the left goes uphill. 
• Veer left at this fork and climb up for .3 mi. and you will arrive at Vagabond Ranch.
• On the way you will pass: FS sign for Kaufman creek rd. on the right at 1.5 mi., and 1.25 miles further a FS sign for the Illinois Pass trail.
